Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi - Transfer to Hotel - Tbilisi Walking Tour

Upon your arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Tbilisi. After check-in, you will have time to relax, recover from your flight, and prepare for the unforgettable adventure ahead. 

After some rest, you will enjoy a 3-hour walking tour in Old Tbilisi. During the tour, you will explore the city's main highlights, including Narikala Fortress, the historic sulfur bath district, and the picturesque Leghvtakhevi Canyon

Day 2: Tbilisi - Stepantsminda - Gergeti Trinity Church - Dariali Gorge - Tbilisi

After breakfast, you will depart for the Kazbegi municipality along one of the most scenic roads in the Caucasus - the historic Georgian Military Highway. Along the way, you will stop at the picturesque Zhinvali Reservoir, visit the impressive Ananuri Fortress, and pass through the popular mountain resort of Gudauri. You will also see the colorful mineral formations of the Bidara Travertine natural monument before continuing toward the mountains of the Greater Caucasus.

Upon arrival in Stepantsminda, you will visit the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, beautifully located at an altitude of 2,170 m. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Kazbek (5,054 m), one of the highest and most famous peaks in Georgia, as well as the surrounding valleys and mountain landscapes.

Later, the journey continues to the dramatic Dariali Gorge near the Georgian-Russian border, where you will enjoy an easy and pleasant hike to the picturesque Gveleti Waterfalls. The trail passes through beautiful mountain scenery, rocky cliffs, and crystal-clear streams, making it one of the highlights of the region.

In the evening, the group will return to Tbilisi.

Day 3: Tbilisi - Uplistsikhe - Gori - Borjomi

After breakfast, the group will travel to the famous resort town of Borjomi, renowned worldwide for its natural mineral water springs and beautiful mountain surroundings.

On the way, you will visit the ancient rock-hewn city of Uplistsikhe, one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia. Dating from the Early Iron Age to the Late Middle Ages, this fascinating archaeological complex features caves, tunnels, ancient halls, wine cellars, and temples carved directly into the rock.

If desired, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Stalin Museum in Gori, dedicated to the life of Joseph Stalin, who was born in the city.

Later, you will continue to Borjomi and visit the picturesque Borjomi Central Park, where you can walk through the forested park area and taste the famous Borjomi mineral water directly from the natural spring.

Day 4: Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park - Rabati Fortress - Sapara Monastery - Vardzia

After breakfast, the group will visit Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, one of the largest protected areas in Europe, famous for its dense forests, rich biodiversity, scenic mountain landscapes, and peaceful hiking trails. You will enjoy an easy hike through beautiful woodland scenery and fresh mountain air.

Later, the journey continues to the historic Rabati Fortress in Akhaltsikhe. Originally built in the 9th century and formerly known as Lomisa Fortress, the complex combines Georgian, Ottoman, and European architectural styles. Most of the buildings visible today date back to the 17th and 18th centuries, following extensive restoration works.

You will also visit the beautiful Sapara Monastery, founded in the 9th century and hidden among forested mountains. The monastery is especially known for its elegant stone carvings, peaceful atmosphere, and impressive natural surroundings.

In the evening, the group will continue toward the Vardzia region.

Day 5: Vardzia - Khertvisi Fortress - Saro Megaliths - Tbilisi

After breakfast, you will visit the spectacular rock-hewn city of Vardzia, founded in the second half of the 12th century. One of the most iconic landmarks of Georgia, Vardzia is famous for its extensive cave complex, tunnels, monasteries, and remarkable medieval wall paintings.

Next, you will continue to the impressive Khertvisi Fortress, one of the oldest fortifications in Georgia, dating back to the 2nd century BC. According to legend, the fortress was destroyed by Alexander the Great, adding a layer of myth and history to this dramatic site.

Afterwards, you will explore the ancient Saro Megaliths, a mysterious archaeological site surrounded by beautiful highland landscapes and open views of the surrounding valleys.

In the afternoon, the journey continues back to Tbilisi. On the way, you will pass Sagamo Lake, visit the peaceful Poka Nunnery, and admire the scenic Paravani Lake, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in Georgia.

Day 6: Tbilisi - Sadakhlo Border Crossing - Haghpat Monastery - Sanahin Monastery - Yerevan

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Sadakhlo border checkpoint to cross from Georgia into Armenia and continue your journey in the South Caucasus.

Upon arrival at the border, you will meet your local Armenian guide. The first stop will be the medieval Akhtala Fortress and Monastery complex, known for its well-preserved frescoes and dramatic hilltop location overlooking the Debed River valley.

After a traditional Armenian lunch and a cooking masterclass, the journey continues to the village of Haghpat, home to the UNESCO-listed Haghpat Monastery, a masterpiece of medieval Armenian architecture dating back to the 10th century. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views over the Lori Canyon.

In the afternoon, you will begin a scenic hike through the Debed River gorge. The route first leads to the Kayan Berd Fortress, located on a hilltop above the canyon, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The trail then continues to Sanahin Village, where you will visit the impressive Sanahin Monastery, another 10th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site.

By evening, you will continue your drive to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

Day 7: Yerevan Walking Tour - Yerevan

The day begins with a 2.5-hour walking tour through the vibrant center of Yerevan, where you will explore the city’s main landmarks, architecture, and lively atmosphere. This introduction offers a great overview of Armenia’s capital and its unique blend of history and modern life.

Later, guests will have the opportunity to experience an urban zip line, suspended above the city at a height of 87–90 meters, offering a thrilling perspective over the river gorge and surrounding urban landscape.

After this exciting activity, the group will enjoy lunch and take part in a traditional Armenian cooking masterclass, learning how to prepare some of the country’s most famous dishes.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Ararat Brandy Factory, where you will enjoy a guided tour of the production process and taste some of the finest Armenian brandy (cognac), known worldwide for its quality and heritage.

Next, you will meet a master of the traditional Armenian duduk instrument, listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. You will learn about its history, see different types of duduks, and enjoy a live performance of its deeply emotional sound.

In the evening, dinner will be served at a local restaurant accompanied by a live music show.

Day 8: Yerevan - Areni - Noravank Monastery - Smbataberd Fortress - Yeghegis

After breakfast, the guests will discover the southern regions of Armenia. Passing through a narrow canyon, the group will reach the spectacular Noravank Monastery, surrounded by dramatic red cliffs and considered one of the architectural masterpieces of medieval Armenia.

After enjoying the breathtaking views and exploring the monastery complex, the group will continue to the Artabuynk village, where a 4–5-hour hiking route will begin. The trail passes through beautiful mountainous landscapes and leads first to the Tsakhats Kar Monastery, an ancient monastic complex located in a remote highland setting.

From there, the hike continues to the impressive Smbataberd Fortress, one of the most well-preserved medieval fortresses in Armenia, offering panoramic views over the surrounding valleys and mountains.

After the hike, the group will continue with an excursion to the medieval heritage sites of Yeghegis village and its surroundings, known for its rich historical and cultural significance.

Overnight will be in Yeghegis or Hermon village.

Day 9: Yeghegis - Selim Caravanserai - Lernahovit - Yerevan

After breakfast, the group will head towards Gegharkunik Province, crossing the scenic Vardenyats Pass, one of the historic routes of the Silk Road that once connected Armenia with Persia and beyond.

On the way, you will visit the Selim Caravanserai, a well-preserved 14th-century stone inn that served as a resting place for traders, caravans, and travelers along this ancient trade route.

From Lernahovit village, the hiking route to Mount Armaghan (2,829 m) will begin. The ascent leads through beautiful highland landscapes, and at the summit, you will discover a volcanic crater lake and breathtaking panoramic views over the Armenian highlands.

After enjoying lunch at the top with picnic lunch boxes, the group will descend and continue towards Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world.

In the evening, return to Yerevan for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Yerevan - Azat River Gorge - Garni - Airport Transfer

The final day of the tour is light and relaxed. Passing through the scenic Azat River Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage area, the group will enjoy the spectacular view of the Symphony of Stones (Basalt Organ) - a unique natural monument formed by perfectly shaped volcanic basalt columns that create an unforgettable landscape.

After a 3-hour easy hike through the gorge, the group will continue to Garni village for lunch and a traditional lavash baking masterclass, where you will see how Armenia’s famous flatbread is prepared in a traditional underground clay oven.

Later, you will visit the Garni Temple, the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia, dating back to the 1st century AD and dedicated to the sun god Mithra. The site offers beautiful views over the surrounding canyon and mountains.

In the afternoon, return to Yerevan for some free time to rest before your transfer to the airport.
